Engaging with our online communities

Our social media team shares its community guidelines.

At This Girl Can, we recognise the importance of using social media to directly communicate and engage with our online community.

Social media allows us to share your stories and hear conversations amongst our lovely community.

But most important than anything is that our community feels able to engage with us and each other in a respectful, positive, empowering and safe environment.

We understand sometimes social media can be an unpleasant place where some people choose to bully and abuse others, and a small minority use it to spread hate.

That's not for us.

This Girl Can have a zero-tolerance policy on racism, homophobia, bullying, abuse, hate speech and discrimination of any kind on our social media channels and those participating in such actions are not welcome in our online community.

Our duty to online safety

We are committed to creating a secure online environment across our social media channels.

In order to achieve that we ask that our audience support this endeavour by reflecting our values and beliefs when engaging with us and others online.

We won't tolerate any form of abuse or discrimination including:

  • racism
  • homophobia
  • transphobia
  • sexism
  • hateful, abusive or offensive language
  • sexual harassment
  • incitement to violence.

We take a proactive approach to dealing with harmful comments and messages that violate our policy.

Therefore, if your comments and/or messages are in violation of our guidelines, they'll be reported and deleted and the user will be blocked from our channels without exception.
